My Monthly Playlists by Katie Ellis
Finding and listening to music has always been one of my favorite things to do. I love sharing music with my friends and introducing them to new songs and artists. At the end of 2020, I had the idea to find a new song every day and then at the end of each month put all the songs I had found on a playlist for that month. Each month has a completely different vibe while also having so many different songs on them. Going back and listening to previous playlists takes me back to specific points I was at during my last semester of college almost in the same way smelling a perfume you used to wear takes you back to the moments. The music I listen to is all across the board, and making these playlists has let me dive deeper into genres and artists I already know and love, and also find a ton of new ones I wouldn’t have found otherwise. Each of these playlists have gotten much longer than they’re meant to because I find myself having so much fun finding music that I can’t stop. I’ve been loving making them and hearing how much my friends love them makes me so insanely happy. There’s something for everyone on these playlists, and they’re all incredibly different, so you’re guaranteed to find something that inspires you.
